Registration Opens in July
The deadline to register for Perrysburg Jackets Select Softball tryouts is:
8U & 10U: August 10, 2026
6th - 8th Grade* (Junior Varsity and Varsity): August 25, 2026
*5th graders may tryout for the Junior Varsity and Varsity divisions if they are not playing on the 10U team
All players must pre-register through their SportsConnect account.

8U & 10U Divisions
Date: Sunday, August 15
Location: Rivercrest Fields
Check-in & Warm-up: 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM
Pitchers & Catchers: 4:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Please check-in closer to 4:00 PM and be fully warmed up by 4:30 PM)
Main Tryout: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Parents, please arrive early for pickup in case tryouts finish ahead of schedule.)
6th-8th Grade Divisions (Junior Varsity & Varsity)
Date: Sunday, August 30
Location: Rivercrest Fields
Check-in & Warm-up: 4:15 PM – 4:45 PM
Main Tryout: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Pitchers & Catchers: Evaluated immediately following the main tryout
This division is designed for players in 6th through 8th grade (Junior Varsity & Varsity league levels). Please note that 5th grade players may tryout for this division in they are not playing on a Jackets Select team.
Additional Tryout Details
If you are unable to attend, please indicate this during registration.
A makeup date will be scheduled if needed based on evaluator availability.
Team placement notifications will be sent within 1 week of tryouts.
Players will have 24 hours to accept their roster placement after notification.
Please have your player wear cleats, pants, and their gear they would normally take to a game (Helmet, Bat, Glove, Face Mask, Catching Gear, Water Bottle, etc.).
Scoring criteria will include fielding, hitting, throwing, pitching, catching, and general attitude.
The team selection takes into consideration a combination of the following:
At least 3 evaluators will score each girl on tryout day. At least 1 evaluator will be an independent evaluator. The independent evaluator(s) will not be considered for a coaching position for the division they are evaluating or be a parent of a child in that division.
Incoming coaches for 2026/2027, Past season coaches, League Commissioner, and VP Softball will aid in team selection.
