Kindergarten Age Division (Combo of Coach Pitch and T-Ball)

PRACTICES AND GAMES

Practices will start on April 15, 2024. There are 1-2 practices per week leading up the first game. Games begin on Opening Day which is May 11, 2024. Games have a time limit of 60 minutes. The coach will pitch 5 pitches, and if the player is unable to hit any of those 5 pitches a tee will be used. Every player will get a chance to bat during each inning and line ups should be rotated to provide every player an opportunity to hit last to hit the "home run".   Weather permitting, the season will end by July 2, 2024.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

Each player will need to provide their own glove, helmet, and bat at each practice and game.  Please be sure to print your child’s name on the inside of the baseball cap along with any other personal equipment.  Cleats, baseball pants, and baseball socks are not necessary in these leagues. 

Equipment and clothing can be expensive. Please feel free to buy and sell used clothing and equipment from sites like this: Perrysburg Baseball and Softball Used Equipment.  

TEAM SELECTION PROCESS

Our Kindergarten age division teams are selected through a random draw. We do also accept requests at this age group and there is a place within teh registration form for those requests.  

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Each team needs one head coach and one assistant coach. We also encourage parent helpers as well, although the head or assistant coach must be present at all team events. The Kindergarten age division ideally has teams of about 8-9 players although this may be higher if we do not get enough volunteer coaching applications. At this level, you don't need to be a baseball expert, just be willing to put in the time and energy to help the kids learn and have fun. Coaching at this level is a very rewarding experience, and kids love having parents or family members as a coach.

All coach volunteers need to complete concussion and Lindsay's Law training at the time of registration and will have the opportunity to go to a workshop to get coaching tips and training on how to use SportsConnect to manage their team.
