Game Cancellation Guidelines

Where to Find Updates

Our Facebook page is the quickest way to know about any closures or delays.  We will also send emails as well and communicate through the app.  Please be aware that we have 83 teams in our organization.  Messages through the app need to be written separately on each team's chat, so it does take a little while for us to communicate those mass type of communications by app.  We encourage you to follow us on Facebook to get the quickest updates.

Rain Guidelines

When there is a significant rain, the fields sometimes get too wet to play. We monitor and will provide updates as soon as possible on our Facebook page.

Heat Index Guidelines

Our organization has a rule for heat index for all players - youth and adult, house and travel.  Any time the heat index exceeds 100 degrees, we do not play/practice.

If reasonable, we delay the start time of games (if feasible) until the temperatures cool down.  Because we have start times into the evening, temperatures are often already starting to drop and continue to do so as the evening progresses.  Often, a delay in start time of 30-60 minutes is enough and we are able to start games a little later and still be able to play.  Obviously we do have to consider things such as games after, time of darkness, umpire available, and opposing team availability (if travel) when those decisions are made.

Please be aware that when temperatures are high, we closely monitor the heat index.

Travel coaches - please make sure you communicate our policy to your opposing team if you have home games next week.

Parents - Even once we are able to play, the temperatures are still going to be high.  Please make sure your player has plenty of water/gatorade/powerade packed with them so everyone stays hydrated.  Cooling towels can be helpful as well.

All coaches - Please keep the high temps in mind as you create your game/practice plans for next week.  Extra breaks may be needed to ensure everyone stays hydrated.  Encourage players to be drinking fluids.  Catchers may need rotated out more often.
