Perrysburg Amateur Baseball & Softball Commission
JACKETS SELECT SOFTBALL
General Information | 2026 - 2027 SEASON
OBJECTIVES
Jackets Select Softball is a division of the Perrysburg Amateur Baseball & Softball Commission. The program gives Perrysburg girls the opportunity to play competitive softball in a fun, safe, supportive, and team-oriented environment. Our focus is to help players build their skills, confidence, mental discipline, and leadership so each athlete can reach her full potential. We are also committed to promoting good sportsmanship among players, coaches, and fans, both on and off the field.
DIVISIONS OVERVIEW
8U & 10U DIVISIONS
Overview:
Our focus is on skill development, repetition, and competitive play. There is an emphasis on building fundamentals and love for the game. Strong commitment is expected across multiple seasons.
We ask families to carefully consider the demands of participating in both Jackets Select and a club or travel program simultaneously. While opportunities are abundant, we generally do not encourage dual participation at this age, as athletes and teams benefit most from consistency and focus within one program.
Players are expected to attend most practices and games each season and should make every effort to participate in all practices, games, and tournaments, both home and away. Families should plan for approximately one to two practices per week when in season. When conflicts arise, players should communicate with coaches as early as possible.
Age Requirements:
8U: Players born between September 1, 2017 and August 31, 2019
10U: Players born between September 1, 2015 and August 31, 2017

Overview:

Fall used for evaluation, development, and team building

Goal is to maximize participation within the Perrysburg community and support multiple teams in these divisions
Players seeking a more year-round experience are encouraged to pursue additional club/travel opportunities. Participation in both programs is supported at this level if schedules allow, but it is not required. Players may also participate in PABSC House League during the summer.

TEAM ASSIGNMENTS
Team assignments are based on tryout scores, skill level, position depth, and coach input. Each team will play in a league level designated as Gold or Silver. The coach will determine the appropriate level for each team, which may change during the year based on player development and league competition. Team assignments will be communicated within 1 week of tryouts. Players will have 24 hours to accept or reject their team assignment.
NUMBER OF TEAMS
The number of teams in each age group will depend on the talent level within that division and coach availability. Our goal is to field teams that can compete successfully at their assigned level, so we will only form as many teams as we believe can be competitive.
