Bucky Marshall Scholarship

The Perrysburg Amateur Baseball/Softball Commission (PABSC) will offer a college scholarship towards financial assistance for higher education to two graduating seniors (one male and one female) who are eligible based on the criteria listed. It is the Scholarship Committee’s intent that this be an annual, one-time scholarship based on merit.

The scholarship is to be used to further the recipient’s education at any of the following:

• A four (4) or two (2) year university

• Junior or community college

• Post-secondary trade or vocational school

The following determines the eligibility of potential scholarship recipients:

• Recipient must be a graduating senior

• Participation in the PABSC for a minimum of four seasons, with at least one year of junior high age level or equivalent baseball/softball and one year of high school age level baseball/softball or equivalent within the program.  Participation can include employment with PABSC. 

• Applicant shows noteworthy character traits including, but not limited to the following:

  • Honesty

  • Integrity

  • Leadership

  • Respect for self and others

  • Sportsmanship

  • Willingness to furnish and accept instruction

  • Effort at being a team player

To be considered for the scholarship, complete the 2025 Bucky Marshall Scholarship Application form.

You will need to attach the following support documentation on the form:

• An essay (150 word minimum) explaining how you exemplify the above criteria

• Two recommendation letters from a teacher, group leader, guidance counselor, and/or PABSC/high school/travel coach (parents and relatives exempt as references)

• A transcript of high school grades

• Proof of acceptance and/or enrollment into institution of his/her choice

Deadline for application is March 31, 2025. 

Winners will be announced by May 1, 2025.
